Duo Eós combines Greek and Japanese musical traditions through the intimate sounds of violin and cello. Named after the goddess of dawn, violinist Hyunjin Cho and cellist Efstratia Chaloulakou take audiences through three centuries of string duo repertoire. The program ranges from Cirri's classical elegance and Xenakis' raw contemporary energy to Halvorsen's folk music-influenced virtuosity, culminating in his monumental Passacaglia. Based in Amsterdam, the duo brings intercultural depth and youthful energy to each phrase. An evening of technical brilliance, lyrical sensitivity and musical discovery.
