This program explores the expressive and virtuoso landscape of 17th-century music, with works that highlight the richness of the baroque repertoire for violin and cello. Each piece offers its own view of the evolving styles of the time, from sophisticated contrapuntal structures to improvisational freedom and dancing movements.
The Auró Duo is a baroque ensemble based in Amsterdam. The musicians met during their master's degree at the Amsterdam Conservatory. The name Auró refers to a type of wood used in the 17th century and symbolises the duo's deep connection with both the craft and traditions of the Baroque period.
