Sapporo
SAPPORO is a contemporary dance solo that explores the intimate experience of migration through the performer's body. The work explores displacement, memory and the personal reconstruction that occurs when you are in unfamiliar territory. Through a physical language that merges contemporary dance and ballet, the solo reveals the tension between vulnerability, adaptation and resilience. SAPPORO offers an emotional journey where the body becomes an archive.
“SAPPORO” deepens research into migration by focusing on its most intimate dimension: the transformation of the individual. Through precise and physically driven movements, the solo explores how someone deals with uncertainty, redefines the sense of connection and builds a new self-image within a new cultural and emotional landscape. The work highlights the subtle shifts — physical, psychological, and perceptual — that take place during this transition. With a minimalist scenic approach and a strong focus on embodied storytelling, “SAPPORO” invites audiences on a personal and universal journey of resilience and reinvention.
