The Dark Wave: Post-Punk/New Wave from Amsterdam

The Dark Wave revives the iconic post-punk and new wave sound of the 80s, with a contemporary twist.

This six, in their current line-up since the end of 2023, melds brit-pop bravado and goth nostalgia into an intense, compelling sound. But with lyrics about media addiction, war refugees and loneliness, the band is completely in the present. Every single (via indie label Walboomers Music), from their debut Seventeen, immediately conquered IndieXL's Indie Chart, attracted international attention and was played on indie radio stations worldwide. Spotify placed their songs in the popular New Alternative playlist for months.

After an impressive 2025 on Dutch and Belgian stages and a powerful performance at Eurosonic 2026, The Dark Wave is bringing their debut EP trapped behind glass walls (March 2026) to stages and festivals this year. The kick-off is a concert in an intimate setting in café Belcampo.
