Apologia – performance by Giulia Damiani
An excerpt from Giulia Damiani’s work-in-progress project Apology for Fire. This short solo performance explores how power and climate narratives choreograph public space.
Political speeches are often tied to rigid gestures and stylized rhetoric. The artist spent time in Portugal, in an area affected by wildfires, where she gathered traces of a different, insurgent climate experience.
The body becomes a resonant friction of sensory experience and acoustic vibration; this work offers an alternative public discourse on how non-normative bodies inhabit, share, and claim urban space, and connect with what exists beyond it.
This performance is part of the exhibition on view at Rozenstraat – a rose is a rose.
Admission is free and no registration is required.
