The conversation will be held in French and will focus on her latest book, La nuit au cœur, which has won several literary prizes and was named the Dutch Goncourt Choice in 2025.
In this poignant book, Appanah tells the story of three women who were victims of violence at the hands of men they loved. One of them is the author herself. With great openness and courage, she explores the scars that violence leaves behind and the possibility of breaking free from it.
This evening is organised by the L’Échappée Belle foundation, in collaboration with the Institut français des Pays-Bas and the bookshop Le Temps Retrouvé, with support from the Centre national du livre.
