Love Lives Here marks 25 years of equal marriage rights in the Netherlands. In 2001, the Netherlands became the first country in the world where same-sex couples could marry. The exhibition brings together different generations: from a couple who married back then to newlyweds and other queer couples of today.

The portraits were taken at locations chosen by the subjects themselves – places from their daily lives that hold special meaning within their relationships. This creates an intimate series about love, partnership, and family, and the freedom to define these concepts for oneself.

The exhibition is organised by Pride Photo and De Hallen Amsterdam. Pride Photo is a Dutch non-profit organisation that has been dedicated since 2010 to increasing the visibility of LGBTQIA+ stories through photography and visual storytelling. The organisation is also known for its annual open-air exhibition during Pride Amsterdam.
